Cork Chess Club is happy to announce that we have reopened after our summer break. Each Friday the club meets for friendly over-the-board matches with juniors playing from 7:00pm-8:30pm and adults from 8pm-Midnight

33rd Cork Chess Congress
Join us for the 33rd Cork Chess Congress at the Clayton Hotel, Cork, from October 3rd to 5th, 2025. This three-day tournament welcomes players of all levels, from novice to expert. Compete for top prizes in a competitive yet friendly atmosphere. More details available on the ICU website here.

Club Championship
Cork Chess Club members are given the oppertunity to gather to compete against each other in the Club Championship. This event provides a fantastic opportunity for our members to test their skills, showcase their talent, and engage in friendly yet fierce competition in long for classical chess. Whether you're a seasoned player or a newcomer to the chess scene, the Club Championship welcomes participants of all levels. Throughout the tournament, members face off against each other in a series of intense matches in classical time controls, with each game serving as a stepping stone towards the ultimate goal of becoming the Club Champion. Participating in the Club Championship not only hones your chess skills but also fosters a sense of community and camaraderie among members. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow chess enthusiasts, forge lasting friendships, and share your love for the game.
